Monococco

My work concentrates on two fundamental aspects: craftsmanship and change.

Craftsmanship because it is the theme that we have elaborated on from the beginning of the semester and change because, during the course here, my method of work is changing together with my life.
This theme developed from a concentration on a rare element found in my land, my island; It is a grain, called MONOCOCCO, discovered recently but was always present.
This is an ancient species of grain that can help the prevention of celiac disease.
A grain more digestible and less toxic for our bodies.
Thanks to this, one can say that there has been economic growth in Sardinia.
I used iron wire in my artwork, because it is composed of a material that is indestructible and resistant to time, exactly like good craftsmanship.
I used the color red and black because they are two contrasting colors representing change, and in particular I use these colors to emphasize the grain Monococco, that stands out from the rest of the field.
The colors of the entire composition –black, white and red– are the colors of the Sardinian flag.
